Welcome
JPEMS - The unique experience of a medical curriculum in an international context.
After the successful implementation of the JPEMS by the University of Szeged (2015), the VUmc School of Medical Sciences of Amsterdam (2016), the University of Angers (2017), "Iuliu Hatieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca is happy to welcome the medical program in 2018.
Share your knowledge with students and teachers coming from different countries and cultures. Come and study in Cluj-Napoca and follow a unique mix of curriculums in an international context, taught entirely in English.
Our University is pleased to invite you to participate in this year’s one-semester study program: a full semester with an exciting combination of lectures by professors and researchers from many different European universities, small group tutorials, student-driven projects and placements which can be offered in a research environment according to the student’s preference.
This semester of pre-clinical teaching, centred on biological sciences and research issues, is implemented by a consortium of European universities: Angers (France), Szeged (Hungary), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Naples (Italy) and Timisoara (Romania). It is fully credited within the home-institution curriculum for all students.
JPEMS is open to all students from our consortium who are enrolled in a medical course and keen on taking part in a unique, multicultural experience. The objective is to offer participants the opportunity:
- to have an overview of European medicine taught by renowned visiting professors,
- to benefit from a large European network useful for early exposure to research,
- to learn medical English or/and French from doctors with international careers,
- to increase their own employability in international organisations.
An international staff from all partner institutions is constantly involved in the design of the curriculum, in the elaboration of course and assessment materials but also in medical teaching and medical research. Courses are given by Romanian and foreign visiting professors entirely in English.
Come and enjoy!
